Janette Beham

Janette is a classical guitarist with The New York City Guitar Orchestra, which was established in 2010 by the New York City Classical Guitar Society. Directed by Jason Sagebiel , the orchestra is committed to providing a valuable ensemble experience for guitarists of diverse backgrounds, while maintaining musical excellence and a commitment to fostering the creation of new music. Through its new music project, made possible by the generous support of The Augustine Foundation, the orchestra has commissioned 18 new works from diverse composers such as members of the Philip Glass Ensemble, The Metropolitan Opera, Nine Inch Nails, the B-52’s, and many more. Currently, the group is recording this new music for release.

In addition to her classical guitar work, Janette has studied flamenco dance with Omayra Amaya in her NYC Flamenco Dance Workshops at Fazil’s Studio, a legendary dance rehearsal space in New York. Earlier in her career she was mentored by the late, Tony Acosta, owner of Luthier Music Corporation. She studied classical guitar with Federico Diaz while receiving instruction from Sylvain Coudret, guitarist with the Swedish melodic death-metal band, Soilwork. She is currently studying guitar with Ron Kachnic, guitarist with the technical death-metal band, Malignancy.
