Jessica Park, viola

Jessica Park is a sophomore at Williamsville East High School and a dedicated young violist and pianist. She began playing the viola in fourth grade and quickly distinguished herself through her talent and commitment. After just one year of study, Jessica was accepted into both ECMEA (Erie County Music Educators Association) and NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association). In sixth grade, she joined the Greater Buffalo Youth String Orchestra (GBYSO). By seventh grade, she was appointed Vice Principal Violist of the Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra (GBYO) and later earned the position of Principal Violist at the NYSSMA Zone 1 Area All-State Junior High Festival. Throughout middle and high school, Jessica has consistently ranked first or second chair in ECMEA All-County and NYSSMA evaluations. Jessica was awarded a full scholarship to attend the prestigious Luzerne Music Center Summer Program, where she served as Principal and Vice Principal Violist in a variety of ensembles. She also participated in chamber music through the BRAVO Workshop and Buffalo Suzuki Strings, gaining valuable experience in collaborative performance. Most recently, she was recognized with an Honorable Mention in the Genesee Young Musicians’ Competition. She currently serves as Principal or Vice Principal Violist in her high school Symphony Orchestra. In addition to her accomplishments on the viola, Jessica has studied piano since first grade. She won an international piano competition award in seventh grade and continues to advance her training through the Royal Conservatory of Music program.
